Woodford Project
Client Challenge:
Our client was facing a recurring issue with water pooling dangerously close to the side of their home. Water runoff from a neighbouring slope was exacerbating the problem, threatening the structural integrity of their foundation and creating an unsightly and unusable outdoor space.
Our Solution:
To address the issue, we worked closely with local engineers and built according to a professionally designed drainage plan. Our solution involved:
- Installation of a French Drain: We constructed a discrete yet highly effective French drain system to redirect water safely away from the house.
- Retaining Wall & Garden Bed: We built a solid retaining wall to support a new raised garden bed. This not only provided visual appeal but also served a functional purpose – catching and slowing excess water coming from the higher neighbouring property.
- Pathway Construction: To complete the project, we created a beautiful crushed quartz pathway, accented with natural schist steppers. This added both structure and aesthetic charm to the outdoor area.
The Result:
The transformation was not only functional – solving the drainage issues and protecting the home – but also visually striking. The client was thrilled with the outcome, praising the balance of structural integrity and design appeal.
What the Client had to Say:
“I highly recommend working with Michael and Wattle and Stone team. From initial consultation and proposal, to guidance on design and the work being carried out, Michael and his team were professional, precise and polite. The stand out for me was the commitment and follow through. I was kept informed on every step of the job and Michael went above and beyond to connect me with council requirements and an engineer. This crew are professional and do what they say they are going to do. I can’t recommend enough, 5 star experience.” – Suzie, (Woodford)
