Client Challenge:

The client had a fenced off area behind their back stairs that had become completely overgrown and unusable, along with a neglected side path that was muddy and uninviting. The space needed a full refresh to make it functional, attractive, and easy to navigate.

Our Solution:

We designed a thoughtful, low maintenance layout to transform the space. This included:

  • Installing new concrete paving and clean pebble pathways
  • Creating steps down a previously muddy slope, leading to a new gate
  • Removing overgrown grass and weeds from both areas
  • Laying fresh turf and installing automatic irrigation for a lush, healthy lawn
  • Cleaning up the side garden and removing an old clothesline for a tidier, more open look

We worked closely with the client, explaining every step of the process, including layout diagrams and design choices like step regulations for safety and comfort.

The Result:

The once overgrown area is now a neat, welcoming space that’s easy to access and enjoy. The new lawn has already established beautifully, and the client was thrilled with the result, highlighting our clear communication, professionalism, and attention to detail.

What the Client had to Say:

We had a fenced-off area near the back stairs that had become completely overgrown with wild grass; ugly to look at and a pain to walk through, as well as a neglected side area.

The team at ‘Wattle and Stone’ came in and suggested a thoughtful, practical layout (you can see it in the photos), including new slabs, pebble pathways, and steps leading down to a gate where previously there had been nothing but a muddy slope. They also cleaned up the side of the house, removed the clothes line, ripped up the scrappy grass, laid new lawn, and installed automatic reticulation.  After a couple of weeks since the photos attached, the lawn has knitted and looks even better now.

Throughout the whole process, the team was incredibly patient, listening to all my feedback, answering what were probably some pretty silly questions, and walking me through detailed diagrams so I could really visualise the end result. They also explained their choices, including things I’d never have thought of like step regulations.

They showed up when they said they would, worked around the weather when needed, and delivered a fantastic result that we’re really happy with. We’ve got a lot more plans for the property, and we’ll definitely be working with ‘Wattle and Stone’ again.” – Jason M, Blue Mountains.
